The Gladiator look

The Gladiator look is inspired by the fascination with gods and goddesses and dommed mythological heroes. This permeated the fashion scene with Grecian-inspired dresses, togas, and tunics flowing through the runways.

HOW TO WEAR IT:

This look can achieved by looking for details such as ruched jersey, asymmetric hems and necklines, and body-concious fabrics. Contrast the softness of these frocks with tough accessories such as platform shoes and gilt-edged or metallic belts and necklaces.

Flower Power

For the spring collections, designers looked to nature for inspiration. The Flower Power look is the resultof a millieu of petal-soft gowns, dresses entrenched in nature’s color spectrum, and prints rich in flora and fauna.

HOW TO WEAR IT:

Big ruffles reminiscent of petals are a huge fashion statement. For the not-so-adventurous, floral prints are a good alternative. Choose a monochromatic palette for large prints so as not to overwhelm the body, while smaller prints can do with more color.
